Full Auto Fun

Last weekend a vendor took me and several of my work co-workers out to Scottsdale Gun Club. They paid for all of us to shoot a couple of fully automatic weapons. First we got to shoot a H&K MP5, this is a very popular submachine gun chambered in 9mm parabellum and is H&K’s flagship piece. Next we got to shoot a H&K G36-C, this is a 14in barreled carbine chambered in 5.56 Nato.

After getting to shoot both guns I preferred the G36-C. It didn’t have anymore recoil than the MP5 and it felt more substantial. I definitely recommend going to SGC and taking part in one of their Machine Gun Rentals. It’s a great way to make a memory with your friends.

Today I ran across a picture on the internet that fired up the artist inside me. It was a picture of a Irish folk artist name Glen Hansard. It has been almost 10 years since that last time I actually did a portrait so I was surprised to find myself sketching it. I guess you just never to when you will be inspired; probably for the best.

It’s a Girl!!!

Me and my wife Heather have been expecting for 4months now and today we found out that it is going to be a girl. We are very excited as now we can start picking out names and Heather can start decorating. The doc’s gave the baby a clean bill of health and said that everything is in the normal ranges for this stage of the pregnancy. We are so blessed as that is all you can really ask for. Farewell to Bodewell

On December 19th 2009 Bodewell played there final show. We were blessed by our loyal fan base who came out to see us off. The show was at The Clubhouse in Tempe. Our set was somewhere is the middle of the bands playing that night opening for Gilby Clarke(Guns N’ Roses fame). Unfortunately the first band started late and everyones set time was shorted to make up for lost time. This meant for us that we had to cut a song which ended up being Amorous Hosts. The show went well and the fans said they enjoyed The Clubhouse’s sound system the best out of all the venues we played. Post show we took a few shots with our fans(bode’ies as Matt calls them) and maybe a beer or two. Once the crowd dispersed Wy and I settled down with a victory smoke. Wy picked up some Gloria Cubana cigars to commemorate the event. I couldn’t have thought of a better way to finish off our last show than a victory smoke with my dear friend.

Colt LE6920 - Update!!!

Back in October I purchased my first Assault Rifle. Since then I made a few additional modifications to the rifle to suit my liking. I replaced the trigger guard to make it for glove friendly. I also replaced the tactical latch with a extended latch so that the charging handle can be operated with one hand. Finally I added a flashlight on a drop mount so I could easily access it with my left hand. Below are the specifics with links to the manufactures sites.
